Dan – Managing Director
Dan originally came up with the ethos for Bench in response to seeing so many companies confused and concerned about the rapid advance in technology, the growth of data from big to small, constantly evolving customer views and expectations, and many more.
He launched Bench to answer those challenges and support clients through their transformation journey.
Over the past 25 years he has gained experience of providing solutions to a variety of technical and business challenges across a wide variety of sectors. He has helped to shape and provide solutions for clients ranging from Fiat, Kwikfit, Volvo, GSK, JLR, Sainsbury’s, John Lewis, Unibet, ESI Media, Johnston Press, Ryanair and many more.
He has worked in partnership with many large technology vendors including IBM, Adobe, SAS, Pitney Bowes, and Microsoft.
Dan specialises in providing practical data and technology solutions as an answer to complex marketing and business challenges to help organisations transform and drive value.
When it comes to favourite holiday destinations, Dan is always happiest when skiing or messing about in the water, and he would never sit still on the beach… sandcastles all the way! In his free time, he watches most sports – as a 3rd generation Bristol City supporter, Dan didn’t have a choice. On a Sunday, he hangs out with his kids, and watches his son play football when there is a match on.
Graham – Director of Consulting
Graham heads up our consulting offering, helping organisations to Think differently. He is particularly passionate about bringing-to-life the demonstrably deeper relationships that technology and data can create between brands and customers.
Over the past 25 years he has used his practical experience in identifying and integrating new marketing technologies, digital applications and solutions to help major retail and e-Commerce brands in formulating, accelerating and re-configuring their technology stacks and strategies to deliver tangible ROI and business outcomes.
He has led commercial and strategic development for major global brands including Orange, News International and SAGA. He has also directed and advised several marketing technology start-ups and held numerous consultancy and non-executive roles advising companies across a range of sectors around technology adoption, evolving consumer behaviour and innovation strategy.
Graham’s favourite holiday destination is Santorini, and his hobbies involve anything his nine year old daughter wants to do… and golf! His party trick is finding another party when this one finishes.
Kevin Gorrie – Director of Programmes
Kevin is responsible for leading on our marketing, customer and asset management projects and programmes utilising technology including IBM, SalesForce, Adobe, Teradata and Pitney Bowes. He is particularly passionate about delivering value quickly and at pace for his clients, focusing on the stated and desired outcomes and enabling the client’s own capability in its chosen technologies, rather than simply deploying the tech.
He brings over 25 years’ experience in delivering marketing, customer management and master data management projects to organisations including Aviva, RAC, SSE, Kwik Fit and Sainsbury’s.
Kevin utilises and shares his practical experience and expertise with his teams, ensuring they are setup to respond and adapt to changing priorities or external factors during their projects and programmes.
During his downtime Kevin enjoys doing DIY at home and when time permits watching his boxsets, Peaky Blinders and Silicon Valley are a couple of his favourites. You might also find him enjoying his favourite tipple, a Black Russian.
Victoria – Application & Change Director
Victoria heads up our application and change team, helping organisations to Apply their data and knowledge differently. Recognising tactical and longer-term wins for clients is a speciality.
Throughout her career, Victoria has established a successful track record in delivering complex implementations and providing quick and valuable results in the marketing technology arena.
Victoria continuously aims to unravel client business challenges and endeavours to provide a comprehensive 360 view on any proposed solution. In addition, Victoria keeps clients up-to-date with future customer demands, and directs them towards applying data, marketing technology and strategy to satisfy and at the same time push the boundaries.
Victoria runs a girls’ under 12’s football team in Milton Keynes that Bench sponsors, and if she was an animal she would want to be a dolphin since they don’t take themselves too seriously.
Adele – Head of Associate Development
Adele leads our operations, including partnerships, resourcing client projects, marketing and general business operations. A big focus for Adele is the Associate Partner network, developing relationships and expanding into new areas with our Consulting Partners. Adele has been instrumental in instilling a strong sense of consultant and contractor care throughout our client programmes.
Adele’s background includes 10 years in international property. This included stints in the USA, Caribbean, Spain and Cyprus where she managed sales and marketing teams. She also spent five years in the TV and Film Industry (sourcing and negotiating good terms for locations). In addition she has provided business development consultancy (as an employee and independent consultant) to a host of professional services firms.
Having joined Bench when the business launched in 2015, Adele has contributed to the development and growth of the company; her strengths lie in strategy, sales development and relationships.
Adele’s favourite movie is ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ and you would usually find her enjoying that while drinking ‘bubbles’. During her free time Adele enjoys baking and going to the gym.
Grant – Head of Sales
Grant is responsible for our new business and sales departments and is an expert at building robust client relationships. Grant’s broad experience enables a consultative approach that helps clients negotiate the complexities of the technology ecosystem by identifying the right solution to achieve their objectives.
A highly experienced solution sales professional with extensive experience in IBM, Adobe and SAS enterprise technologies, Grant has an established track record delivering success to organisations across a broad range of market verticals including retail, grocer, gaming and financial services.
Grant works continuously to build strategic partnerships across the ICT market to identify, understand and fulfil opportunity potential for Bench. Not only does this mean Bench is widely recognised, but more importantly the team of experts are constantly enriching their skills on complex projects.
Grant’s favourite holiday destination is Sardinia, and his hobby is training for and attending ultra-events.
Louise – Head of Talent
Louise heads up our Talent team, ensuring client requirements are successfully met. Louise carries out detailed assessments around skill sets and budgets, followed by extensive talent pooling and thorough candidate selection and qualification.
Over the last seven years, Louise has gathered extensive experience within recruitment and head hunting. She has developed relationships with some of the UK’s most successful businesses and has provided skilled and expert IT professionals within a variety of different projects.
Louise is a Harry Potter fanatic, and you would definitely never see her putting jam before clotted cream on a scone! She says growing up she looked like Mogli!
Kiran – Application & Change Consultant
Kiran is responsible for client management of our in-flight programmes, helping to build and expand relationships within our clients. She works hard with the wider team to ensure the most experienced consultants are deployed on her clients programmes. Providing a high level of client service, account planning and stakeholder management are all in a day’s work for Kiran.
Her specialisms include the development of digital marketing strategies and insights, driving client performance through an unrivalled understanding of online and offline channels, overseeing client projects from conception through to completion and providing strategic guidance on the implementation of lifecycle marketing programmes.
Kiran enjoys culinary arts in her free time. If she had to pick any holiday destination it would be South East Asia, and probably take with her favourite read ‘Forget you had a daughter’.
Bob – Senior Technical Consultant
Bob thrives on helping his clients get the most out of their technology investment, focusing on Improving Customer experience, Increasing Marketing Automation, Emerging Supply chain insight hyper-connectivity and the application of emerging AI or machine learning capabilities – working across multiple vendors and products he provides valuable support and advise throughout implementation and into the everyday business operation. His clients range from large to small and span multiple markets and industries.
At Bench, Bob divides his time between client engagement and time with key tech vendors to ensures he provides up to date guidance across a range of products, including much of the IBM Watson Customer Engagement portfolio which incorporates marketing, CX analytics, BI and supply chain insights.
If Bob makes things work or work better he is happy, this could be hardware, software or people and process – so while he is unlikely to be involved as a code level developer on a project, that side of things is somewhere that he feels confident operating and enjoys turning the technical jargon and concepts into reality for our clients.
Bob’s favourite tipples are his own Mojitos and Caipirinhas – some say they are the best! If he was an animal he would want to be a bear, because nobody messes with a bear (also, because they get to hibernate)!
Hannah – Business Development Manager
Hannah focuses on helping clients make better business decisions through effective use of market analysis, data and intelligence, ensuring that clients have the right information and insights to reach their strategic goals.
She is an experienced CRM Manager with a strong background in marketing automation for both B2B and B2C across EMEA, with qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and The Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing. As well as providing Client Management support, Hannah works with her clients to understand customer life cycles and behaviour patterns to ensure they are delivering the right content at the right time to maximise customer experience and revenue.
Hannah’s holiday destination of choice is anywhere in the Caribbean, relaxing while sipping a cocktail in the sunshine. On her normal non-Caribbean Sundays though, you would find her taking a long muddy walk with Poppy, her rescue Beagle.
Tony – Solutions Architect
Tony leads our solutions architecture offering, helping clients to integrate complex data systems through the use of proven patterns and best practices.
Over the past ten years, Tony has worked with organisations from across various industries, helping to define their MDM strategies and lead ii the implementation of these. During this time he has also undertaken the role of enterprise architect, subject matter expert, technical trainer and product owner.
Tony has particular expertise in working closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements while leading teams (both onshore and offshore). He has played crucial roles with organisations including Safeway, AIG, Daimler, Sainsbury’s and Kwik Fit. He is also an expert on the IBM InfoSphere suite, Pitney Bowes Spectrum, Hadoop, IBM MQ and Ab Initio.
Tony’s favourite food is Szechuan, and favourite drink is a Bourbon Old Fashioned. The book he would read again and again is ‘The Road to Serfdom’ by Friedrich von Hayek.
Nicoleta – Marketing Executive
Nicoleta looks after our marketing and ensures well rounded communications and branding for Bench, both online and offline. She delivers a wide range of marketing activities to help drive new business and client development, while also supporting Bench in achieving its business objectives. This includes implementing marketing activities and campaigns, managing events, case studies, brand management, social media, conducting market research and creating awards entries.
Coming from a creative background, Nicoleta has studied and worked in Architecture, before changing focus, while also applying her transferable skills to complete her MA in Marketing Communications and further her professional career.
Nicoleta’s favourite holiday destination is anywhere sunny and warm, and she is always happy with an exceptionally good burger. Her hobbies include anything that would get her adrenaline pumping.
Marco – Bid Executive
Marco is our Bid Executive, responsible for coordinating the team when responding to commercial bids. He also supports the process around software license transactions.
Marco has recently graduated from university with a 1st class honours degree in Marketing with Advertising. He is highly organised with excellent attention to detail, which helps him ensure he is delivering the highest possible standard of support to both clients and the wider Bench team.
On a Sunday you would usually find Marco playing football in his local league. His favourite book is ‘I am Legend’ by Richard Matheson and holiday destination of choice is San Remo in Italy.
Laura – Resource Coordinator
Laura works to resource client programmes, support on resource requests for everything from Technology SMEs, Training and Programme Management, right through to Business and Strategic Consulting, her attention to detail gained in over 7 years in administration roles really comes into play here.
Another area where Laura is focussed is keeping the team and Consultant organised in terms of travel and accommodation, onboarding new consultants and contractors as well as supporting the Associates and Talent department.
Laura really enjoys swimming, and if she was an animal she would want to be a killer whale. Her holiday destination of choice is anywhere new!
